
KFC Chicken in the Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or wings)
- 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
- Cooking spray or oil
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
- In a bowl, mix flour and all spices.
- Remove chicken from marinade, let excess drip off.
- Coat chicken well in the flour mixture. Press to stick.
- Spray chicken lightly with oil.
- Preheat air fryer to 180°C / 360°F.
- Air fry for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway and spraying again.
- Cook until golden, crispy, and internal temp reaches 75°C / 165°F.
Tips
- For extra crunch: double coat (dip again in buttermilk, then flour).
- Don’t overcrowd the basket.
- Serve with coleslaw, fries, or mashed potatoes.
