Filet Mignon with Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 2 filet mignon steaks
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter

Shrimp:

  • 8–10 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: paprika or chili flakes

Sauce (optional but classic):

  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Cook the steaks:
    • Season steaks with salt and pepper.
    • Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over high heat.
    • Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side (medium-rare) or to desired doneness.
    • Remove and let rest.
  2. Cook the shrimp:
    • In the same pan, add butter and garlic.
    • Add shrimp, season, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove.
  3. Make the sauce (optional):
    • Lower heat, add cream and butter to the pan.
    • Stir in Parmesan and lemon juice. Simmer until slightly thick.
  4. Serve:
    • Place filet mignon on plate, top with shrimp, and spoon sauce over.
