
Beef Liver and Onions
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) beef liver, sliced
- 1–2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup (120 g) flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
- 3–4 tbsp butter or oil
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) beef broth (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse liver under cold water and pat dry.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Lightly dredge liver slices in flour.
- Heat 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook until soft and caramelized (8–10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining butter to the pan. Cook liver slices 2–3 minutes per side (do not overcook).
- Return onions to the skillet. Add beef broth if desired and simmer 2–3 minutes.
