
Ingredients
For the Pastry (Choux):
- 1 cup (240 ml) water
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- Pinch of salt
For the Cream Filling:
- 2 cups (480 ml) heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup (30 g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional: Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Make the dough:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
- In a saucepan, bring water, butter, and salt to a boil.
- Remove from heat, add flour all at once, stir until smooth.
- Return to heat and cook 1–2 minutes until mixture forms a ball.
- Cool slightly, then beat in eggs one at a time until smooth and glossy.
- Bake:
- Pipe or spoon small mounds onto baking sheet.
- Bake 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Do not open oven during baking.
- Cool completely.
- Make filling:
- Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Fill:
- Slice puffs in half or poke a hole in the bottom.
- Fill with whipped cream.
- Dust with powdered sugar.
