
Ingredients:
- 1 large head green cabbage
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or beef & pork mix)
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
Sauce:
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup water or broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Boil the whole cabbage until leaves soften. Remove leaves carefully.
- Mix ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, egg, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place filling on each cabbage leaf, roll tightly, tucking in sides.
- Arrange rolls in a pot. Pour sauce over them.
- Cover and simmer on low heat 60–75 minutes until tender.
- Serve warm.
