
Filet Mignon with Shrimp
Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
Shrimp:
- 8–10 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper
- Optional: paprika or chili flakes
Sauce (optional but classic):
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Cook the steaks:
- Season steaks with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over high heat.
- Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side (medium-rare) or to desired doneness.
- Remove and let rest.
- Cook the shrimp:
- In the same pan, add butter and garlic.
- Add shrimp, season, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove.
- Make the sauce (optional):
- Lower heat, add cream and butter to the pan.
- Stir in Parmesan and lemon juice. Simmer until slightly thick.
- Serve:
- Place filet mignon on plate, top with shrimp, and spoon sauce over.
